The holidays are my absolute favourite!

I LOVE the extra opportunity to decorate and be with family!

The only problem is, the holidays can be expensive!

If you want that Pinterest Perfect home for the holidays you’ll need to

master the art of mixing and matching higher end and lower priced options!

Affordable Luxury is something I firmly believe in.

You DO NOT have to buy the most expensive items every time to have a beautiful home!

There’s an art to mixing higher end pieces with lower-priced options

so that your space looks great and your budget can

be used for what’s really important to you!

Now you can be the judge!

Here are my ‘same-look’ in both high and low price points.

Play along and try to guess the high and the low…

Decor is so much about personal taste and YOUR vision.

These Deer are a great example of similar products for very different price points.

I love a great splash of gold so I would choose these for my space.

If you are not a gold fan or your holiday decor works better with

the all-black option you may want to splurge on the monochromatic version!

This may be my personal favourite area to splurge but it doesn’t have to be yours!

Below I have sourced a 3 bowl serving dish that I couldn’t walk past!

However, the price is high! The alternative to this is finding another serving

dish like this 2 tiered serving tray that is also gorgeous and has huge presence.

If you are like me and your heart stopped when you saw the higher priced item,

then splurge!

If you are just looking for something with great style that will look beautiful

to serve your treats on over the holidays this is a great option!

The truth is I will probably buy myself both!

Table Linens

These Tartan Table Clothes are gorgeous and have a HUGE price difference.

Both options give you a great pop of red and that seasonal feel.

You should splurge on the higher priced option if you are someone who cares

about the ‘feel’ of their linens. The higher priced option is very soft.

This is a great place to save if you want the look, a pop of red and

are willing to compromise on the tactile element.

A great wreath dresses up the front door or the mantel.

My rule of thumb when deciding to save or splurge is to spend more on

areas that are higher traffic or more statement type areas.

If your wreath is the centrepiece of the entire living room,

it might be a great spot to splurge.

If it is something you breeze by on your way into the

door you can save and go with a more cost-effective option.

Fun Throw Pillows

Throw Pillows are so fun because they can be brought in and out

throughout the seasons. Pillows can vary in price by A LOT!

This is a place to consider how you use the space and who uses the space.

If the pillows will be used, touched, jumped on, and played with you

may want more durable fabric options and maybe want to not invest as much.

If these are purely decorative then you can get away with

higher maintenance options like velvet and silk.

If you can find comparable ‘looks’ for different price points,

then I think this is a great opportunity to save!

Tree Ornaments

In my opinion tree ornaments are some of the

most sentimental of all of the holiday decor.

Many of you have collected ornaments over a lifetime.

You may also have traditions of receiving or giving

a new ornament from a loved one every year.

This personalized collection will dictate whether you save or splurge here.

A Tip…

This is a great opportunity to also shop ‘around’!

If you have a vision you may not have to compromise!

Finding something on sale may give the sentimental quality you

are hoping for as well as the look and price you are looking for!

The more affordable option here is similarly priced

originally but has been marked down! Shop sales!!

I hope your home is everything you dream of this year!

There is nothing more magical than a home all decked out!

I’d love to see your favourite holiday decor!
